Studio Montclair Inc. (SMI) announces its latest exhibition – "Portraits: Beneath the Surface" – which will be on view May 18 – August 14, at the SMI Gallery @ Academy Square, 33 Plymouth St., Montclair, NJ. An opening reception will be held at the gallery May 18, 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm .
"Portraits: Beneath the Surface" was curated by Janet Boltax and encompasses a broad interpretation of the genre. Artworks in the exhibit comprise a range of media and span from traditional to contemporary art. |

Alternative rock band Death Cab For Cutie will make a stop at Montclair's Wellmonth Theatre July 19 during their 2012 summer tour. The band's latest album, Codes and Keys, was released in May of last year and was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 54th Grammy Awards.
